About Our Business
I grew up surrounded by animals. We always had
dogs and cats, but over the years we had rabbits,
chickens, ducks, mice, rats and to this day my mom
still has a parrot who is now 38 years old and I will
inherit him one day. In my last year of college, a
friend brought me this neglected and abandoned dog
who I’d had seen on several occasions and fell in love
with. Kodiak, the Samoyed pictured on my home page,
was my first dog as an adult. I had him for 9 years
before I had to board him for the first time. Needless
to say, I think he handled it much better than I did.
When you drop off your “baby” you worry about
everything. Will they eat, drink and be in good hands?
What if they escape, get frightened or sick?
I wanted a place that I would feel confident about
leaving my “babies”. A place where there would be
one on one interaction, they would have lots of room
to run and play and not be in a kennel all day long. A
place where the caretakers understand how you feel
when you drop off your pets and will provide a fun
and safe place for them.
I started this business out of love for animals and
need for bigger and more personalized facility. I have
a Newfoundland mix and a St. Bernard and finding a
kennel to house both in the same run and provide a
large exercise/play area was impossible. So, in 2003,
when I was looking at property in south central
Montana, I kept in mind location, zoning, ease of
access, out buildings and amount of land. Amazingly,
the first place I looked at had everything I wanted and
needed.
